Internships & Volunteers No Longer Empty is a not for profit organization that transforms empty storefronts into public art exhibitions. Co-founded and curated by Manon Slome (former curator at Guggenheim and the Chelsea Art Museum) and Asher Remy-Toledo (of his own Remy Toledo Gallery and ART Projects), we have "pop-up" exhibitions about each month (read our NY Times article here). We are committed to providing a meaningful and challenging internship or volunteer experience. There is a lot to be learned about curating, installing/de-installing and promoting an exhibition especially on such a quick turnaround. Ideal Candidate: Interns should be self-starters, creative, resourceful, proactive and organized in their specific talent that matches our organization’s needs. Taking self-initiative is necessary for working in a creative and flexible working environment. Interns will join a committee (listed below) to accomplish certain goals. All backgrounds are welcomed (artists, planners, fashion, architecture, finance, journalism) 1. Design and Merchandising-graphic design skills necessary for invitations, signage, displays, flyers, website etc *Exhibition support entails sitting one or two shifts at the exhibition and representing and introducing NLE for visitors. Some database entry required. Universities and High Schools are welcome to contact No Longer Empty to set up internships. 131 West 24th Street | New York NY 10011 | info@nolongerempty.org
