On View: Teens Curate Teens "Rose From The Concrete"

Teens Curate Teens offers high school students hands on experience in No Longer Empty´s site-responsive curatorial practice. Unifying High 5 Teens Reviewers and Critics (TRAC) and Students Arts Program (SAP) by ArtsConnection, Teens Curate Teens provides young aspiring artists in high school the opportunity to exhibit their work alongside professional artists, to create art responding to a specific site and theme, and to experiment with new materials and techniques.
The teen-curated exhibition is titled Rose from the Concrete, inspired by a song from the Harlem-based artist Tupac Shakur. The works of student artists address the theme of “rebuilding” from education, urban, and human viewpoints. The public program designed by the teen curators will be the collective creation of a city from reused materials. Join them on July 19 from 1-5pm.
