How Much Do I Owe You

With these works the fleeting and ephemeral beauty of butterflies is linked to the specter of money, seemingly omni-present but mostly out of reach. Presented either in free flight on the ceiling of the former bank or fluttering inside a glass cube, these images of international currency as butterflies allude to volatile currency markets, capital circulation and migration.

Both projects simultaneously create a whimsical appreciation of the flight of a butterfly, juxtaposed against the somber heaviness of the continued depression in worldwide financial markets and events.  At the same time. the question of beauty and ephemerality point to the difficulty in assessing  the meaning of value and true exchange.
