NLE Lab: Intersecting Imaginaries
Giorgio Guidi’s The Forum is a semi-permanent structure being built at the Andrew Freedman home over the course of the exhibition. The project will take one of three forms represented in the adjacent architectural drawings, and during the exhibition’s opening reception, visitors are encouraged to vote on which design they would like to see the artist realize. Upon the structure’s completion in December, Guidi will host art workshops for children and young people, and the resulting works will be wheat pasted onto the structure, recalling the Bronx’s rich tradition of graffiti art and creating a site of creativity and play for the children frequenting the Andrew Freedman Home for daycare and extra-circular activities. The Forum will outlast the exhibition, remaining at the Andrew Freedman Home indefinitely.
