Weaving In & Out
Isidro Blasco uses raw construction materials to create expressionistic architectural settings. Through shadow and light, When the Time Comes explores the notions of dislocation and order, movement and spaces in transformation. Visually provocative and poetic, the installation invites the viewer to experience the work through its unexpected shifts, shapes and connections.
The image sifting across the installation comes from an empty house in Alicante that is periodically occupied by seasonal migrants who come to the South East of Spain to work in the tomato plantations. It is an empty space that sometimes functions as a shelter, but once the workers leave, the space is left to deteriorate.
