Never Can Say Goodbye
Josh Jordan‘s approach was to find an element of connection between the former music store and the empty space that is under development, thereby creating a new presence that could embrace the notion of the music store and the consumption of commercial items. His installation consists of recreating a small fraction of what Tower Records once was and by doing so generating a product that emerges from the space to be sold in the space. This work also speaks to the changes created by the current economic crisis, the effect of the Internet over the music industry, home music production, sensibility to location, objects of commodity, public space, and the fine line between music and art.
