Hanlu Zhang
Hanlu Zhang describes herself as a practitioner and spokesman of multiculturalism. She received her M.A. in Modern Art History, Theory, and
Criticism from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and B.A. from University of Pittsburgh in Art History and Film Studies. Photography was the subject in both her undergraduate and graduate theses, and thereafter became interested in performance art. Spectatorship, social practice, and cultural exchange are among the topics that interest her in curatorial studies. Hanlu currently works at Bitforms Gallery and has previously worked at SAIC MFA Show, Pearl Lam Fine Art, and Carnegie International Film Festival. Hanlu is also a writer and translator specialized in the field of arts.
