Paola Gallio
Paola Gallio is an independent curator from Italy. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, with a degree in sculpture, and obtained a Masters degree in Curatorial Management in 2008 from Academia de Brera in Milan. The focus of her work is a reassessment of the art scene after the 2008 economic crisis, and the interaction between the institutional art system and the independent art scene. From 2005 to 2008 Paola was the Director of Neon>FDV Space, Milan, and coordinator of Short Show. Curatorial projects include: Spacioux at Lambretto Art Project, Milan (2009); De©obstruction at Micamoca, as part of the Berlin Biennale for the Mariano Pichler Collection (2009); and Grand Tour Low Cost, an art space sharing project between Milan and Brooklyn in 2011/2012. Paola lives and works in Brooklyn.
