Youth Action Council NLE NYCapsule

NYC Youth, you spoke and we listened! We’ve heard your concerns for more activities and community support to overcome isolation from school and social distancing during this challenging time. In direct response to our city’s need, No Longer Empty has opened up our Youth Action Council program to provide a city-wide virtual space for teens to share their voices and experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe that connection, care, and creative action are essential in order to stay in touch– even from a distance.

Connect and Create with NLE NYCapsule!
NLE NYCapsule is city-wide, youth-led, virtual space for NYC youth to work together on documenting their responses to COVID-19 through engaging art projects and discussion. This weekly program will meet on Fridays from 4pm to 6pm via Zoom, is FREE, and geared towards NYC Youth ages 14-19.

Be a part of creating a virtual time capsule filled with new friends, possibilities and creatively fun activities. NLE NYCapsule will offer weekly discussion topics and arts-based projects that youth can work on from home with limited materials. Group activities will be centered on creatively connecting, storytelling and shared experiences. Sessions will also include guest artists, performers and community leaders who will interactively share their stories and artistic practices.

Creative writing, poetry, spoken word, visual arts, dance, music, drama and more!

IMPORTANT INFO:

• NLE NYCapsule is geared towards young people, ages 14-19
• Sessions are held every Friday from 4pm – 6pm
• NLE NYCapsule sessions can be accessed on Zoom via computer, mobile app, or dial-in
• Youth are welcome to drop-in to any session on Fridays
• Prior participation is not required
