Talk: Tito Puente and the Palladium Era

Hosted by Joe Conzo Sr., music chronicler and producer, and author of Mambo Diablo: My Journey with Tito Puente, this event will include music and video, along with special guests.

The discussion will explore the history of Latin music--what we call "Salsa" and "Mambo"--in New York City, and the people and places that shaped the music: from the "Big 3" (Machito, Tito Rodriguez, and Tito Puente) to Johnny Pacheco, Graciela, Celia Cruz, Ray Barretto, and Eddie Palmieri; and from the Palladium Ballroom in midtown to the Teatro Puerto Rico in the South Bronx.
