Paco Cao
Paco Cao has lived in New York since 1995. Employing a wide range of disciplines and materials, Cao establishes a strong relationship among art, audience, and context as he challenges the boundaries between high and low culture. His work for the Old Bronx Borough Courthouse explores the symbolic role of Lady Justice, the building’s main architectural and archetypal feature. The piece was filmed in collaboration with the Ghetto Film School, an organization based in Hunts Point that works with neighborhood teens to educate and encourage a new generation of storytellers.
