Urban Canvas (2010)

Urban Canvas is projected on the inside and outside of the scaffold on 55 Washinton Street. Much of Dumbo is hidden beneath scaffolding and mesh obscuring its nuances. Jordan Seiler uses these very surfaces to create an optical illusion which melts the solidity of the building. Through repeated woven patterns and perspective shifts the ordinary rectangle of construction becomes an extraordinary tool with which to contemplate the surfaces of these buildings.
