Lisa Sigal
Lisa Sigal is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. In her recent work, Sigal paints on walls and makes forms that combine painting with architecture. Her work suggests a mutable delineation between interior and exterior and explores the social and political meaning of this delineation. Utilizing and expanding upon notions of space, she investigates how art can challenge fixed ideas about property, containment, and freedom. Sigal’s recent work Lights/Rats is based on the Suzi Lori-Parks play of the same name (part of 365 Days/365 Plays) and is part of a series of works that the artist presented at Prospect New Orleans in 2014.
