As we celebrate the commencements of our Curatorial LAB, our Young Exhibition Makers, and our Youth Action Council, I, too, have my own passage to share with you. Having served as Chief Curator since our founding in 2009, I am now moving to the role of Curator at Large. In this capacity, I will be in discussion with Christine Licata, NLE’s visionary Executive Director, on the ongoing artistic visioning for the organization while expanding the breadth and reach of our mission both nationally and internationally. What an amazing 10 years it has been! From our small beginnings in a fishing tackle store by the legendary Chelsea Hotel to city-wide installations, our exhibitions, programs, and educational offerings have grown so much from those early days. I am proud of what we have achieved and am beyond thrilled about the artists and partners we have worked with and the thousands of people we have been able to serve. While I will be transitioning from staff, I will continue to serve on the NLE’s passionate board and do my best to ensure that the support of NLE’s important work continues to thrive. It has been a pleasure working with and for you over the years and I look forward to staying in touch in many new capacities. Much love to all, Manon |
